  3. Day 3: Bateay Srie temple & Phnom Kulen National Park

Breakfast at Hotel, then we venture and explore Banteay Srei, or Lady Temple, a 10th-century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Located in the area of Angkor, it lies near the hill of Phnom Dei, 25 km north-east of the main group of temples that once belonged to the medieval capitals of Yasodharapura and Angkor Thom. Banteay Srei is built largely of red/pink sandstone, a medium that lends itself to the elaborate, intricate decorative wall carvings which are still observable today. The buildings themselves are miniature in scale, unusually so when measured by the standards of Angkorian construction. These factors have made the temple extremely popular with tourists, and have led to its being widely praised as a "precious gem", or the "jewel of Khmer art. Kulen Mountain or Phnom Kulen is considered a holy mountain in Cambodia, of special religious significance to Hindus and Buddhists who come to the mountain in pilgrimage. Near these mountains is Preah Ang Thom, a 16th-century Buddhist monastery notable for the giant reclining Buddha, the country's largest. We also get to experience the wonderful waterfall, where many Khmer go to play under the crystal clear waters and refresh themselves during the heat of the day. Remember to wear clothes that can get wet!
  4. Day 4 : Beng Mealea temple & Koh Ker temple

Early morning start at 7.30 am, The Beng Mealea, or Boeng Mealea, is a temple from the Angkor Wat period located 40 km east of the main group of temples at Angkor, Cambodia, on the ancient royal highway to Preah Khan Kompong Svay. Beng Mealea temple is a very impressive temple built in the reign of King Suryavarman II, 12th century CE, and modified by Jayavarman VII.

And then explore to Koh Ker (pyramid temple) complexes.  Also known as the Lotus Pond temples, Koh Ker is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 207 kilometres away from Siem Reap and the ancient site of Angkor. It is a jungle filled region that is sparsely populated. More than 180 sanctuaries were found in a protected area of 81 square kilometres. Only about two dozen monuments can be visited by tourists because most of the sanctuaries are hidden in the forest and the whole area is not fully demined.

  5. Day 5: Preah Vihear Temple

Early morning start at 6 am, we are travel to Preah Vihear temple from Siem Reap city. It stands as the largest single religious complex ever built during the pre Angkorian Era, as its exterior enclosure is approximately 5 square km.  Preah Vihear is a province which borders Thailand and Laos, and for many years has been a point of dispute and fighting between Thailand and Cambodia. From here, you can see the standing armies of the Thai and Cambodia nations as they watch each other, with guns and embattlements in place.  Now thankfully quiet!. Stop for lunch (at your own account) at a local restaurant along the way and then return to Siem Reap city hotel.
